Are you taking care of your mouth, or just your teeth?
20 March marks World Oral Health Day, a reminder that oral health is often misunderstood.
Most people focus on brushing and occasional flossing. While important, this is only part of the picture.
Oral health is also about awareness.
Many issues begin quietly.
Bleeding gums are dismissed.
Sensitivity becomes routine.
Bad breath is covered up rather than explored.
These are early signs, not small problems.
The challenge is that oral health issues rarely begin with pain. They develop gradually, making them easy to ignore.
That is why noticing change matters more than perfection.
Simple questions can make a difference:
Has anything changed recently?
Do your gums feel different?
Are you experiencing discomfort that was not there before?
At My Patient Advice, the focus is on helping people understand when to act, not just how to react.
World Oral Health Day is not about doing more.
It is about noticing sooner.
